The Genius of Leonardo Da Vinci

Leonardo da Vinci had incredible powers of observation, seeing the world around him like no one else. Leonardo's interests and areas of study varied so greatly that many of his works never saw completion. During his time in the service of the Duke of Milan, he only finished about six works over a period of 17 years.

This 24-piece set comes together to form one single coin unit, $24 Dollar face value. Each piece of silver features a full-color, edgeless design showing one of da Vinci's many innovative drawings, that when placed together form a completed picture of the famous Vitruvian Man surrounded by sketches of various inventions conceived in the mind of this great master! Some of the sketches depicted on the set include organ cannon, battle chariot, giant crossbow, flying machine, mainspring, tank, parachute, weighing machine, and many others.

The complete 24 piece silver coin comes presented in its fully assembled form, protectively sealed within a perspex case which still allows full access to the coin designs on the face, and the 24 effigies of Queen Elizabeth II on the back. The 24-piece coin and perspex case, the timber frame, the fabric-lined timber codex display unit, and the timber stand are all carefully packaged within a COLOSSAL, lift-top timber box with the words "The Genius of Leonardo da Vinci - 1452-1519" laser-etched into the top.

Supplied with the set is a timber case designed to look like a bound codex, with a portrait of Leonardo da Vinci taken from one of his own sketches laser-etched on the front. Setting the coin in its perspex case within the supplied timber frame inside the codex-styled case provides a spectacular way of displaying this marvel of numismatic ingenuity. The inside of the codex case is lined with soft red fabric, creating an eye-catching contrast against the rich timber hue of the frame and the old-time parchment coloring of the coin itself. The set also comes with a timber stand in which the perspex case rests, creating a grand centerpiece display for any discerning numismatic collection.
